All I Need to Know

Oby and I have a new church calling teaching the 8 & 9-year-olds in Primary. Aren't they cute!?!?....

I love this calling. I felt a quick connection with all of the kids. Each of them have such unique, sweet & funny personalities! Sydnei on the far left has this incessant giggle that would keep you laughing for days if you heard it. Mason on the far right is a 40-year-old trapped in a 9-year-old's body, and he cracks me up! They all LOVE Oby and call him 'Obi Wan Kenobi' (most kids do). This particular group is very interactive during lessons and it makes it so much fun to teach them, even though they're actually teaching us. :)

All I Need to Know I Learned in Primary
I am a Child of God. Believe in Christ. Do
unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Choose the right. Where love is, there God is
also. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Forgive
& Forget. Give oh give. Listen to the still small
voice. Count your many blessings. Do the
things the Lord Commands. Honor your father &
mother. Dare to be true. Kindness begins
with me. Families are forever. Search,
ponder & pray. Listen to the prophet's voice.
Jesus said love everyone. When you are
helping you are happy. Heavenly Father hears &
answers prayers. There is beauty all around.
Reverently & quietly pray. Sunday is special.
Do your duties with a heart full of song.
My body is a temple.
Heavenly Father Loves Me!!

My favorite part, though, is singing time. I think I actually might like it more than any of the kids! :)

This is the main song they're learning right now. It is so sweet that sometimes it makes me cry (just a little) as I watch and listen to the children sing it.....

Awesome! I just barely got called into Primary too--though I'm the pianist. In the just two weeks I've been in there, I have felt the spirit so much more in my day-to-day life...I don't know if it's the Primary music that's constantly in my head now or what, but it's good. Very good. :)

I've always enjoyed being in primary, even though I end up feeling completely cut off from the rest of the ward! We taught the 8-9 year-olds for about three years. I think we averaged at least 12 kids in our class every week. The lessons are great!

I really like this song too. I think my favorite part about primary was singing time too! I am so sad that I won't be in primary anymore to sing these beautiful songs.
One cool thing our ward did was they made cd's for all the kids in primary of all songs they will be learning this year. When we are in the car Christopher always wants to hear it. It's so funny watching him sing these songs. I can't believe he is a Sunbeam!
Enjoy your calling, it will be a lot of fun and so rewarding for both of you as well. These kids have strong testimonies and you are helping them make it stronger and building the foundation for them later in life.

I LOVE primary. Lucky girl you are. :) I'm stuck in RS...which is okay, but I'd rather be with the KIDS!

I taught my second week of 4 year olds on Sunday. This is my first time teaching Primary kids since I was 19. They are adorable! I wish David was teaching with me, that is v. cool.

I am the primary chorister and that song is totally the best. IT is one of my favorites. I also have to tell you it makes me happy to hear that singing time is your favorite! That is what every chorister wants to hear!

Also can't wait to see you and Baby Chloe as she is referred to in our home!!! See you soon!
