February 2013

February was busy, but fun....

Chloe and Tracker

We had a fun date for Valentine's.... we did a staycation at Little America. We strolled downtown Salt Lake, got sushi, went to a museum, caught a movie, went hot tubbing, and just enjoyed being together!

My cousin, Amy, threw a CUTE Valentine's Day party!

Chloe had a HORRIBLE stomach virus in February! We took her to the ER because of dehydration twice. Ugh, it was not fun. But she was still her sweet, smily self (most of the time).

Probably the biggest news of February was that (drum-roll please....) I quit my job!!!!! It would take way too long for just a "catch up" post to explain in detail all the reasons and miracles that brought this about, but let's just say I'm grateful Oby supported me in the decision because it was time. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically I was spent and ready to dive in to my true roll as mother. My last day of work was the last day of February. I have to say, though, even though I detested my job at MRIoA, I did love many of my co-workers and miss them to this day. However, even there was a rough transition period back into my roll as stay at home mom, it was worth it and I'm glad every single day.

Here Ya Go!

I've received 5 emails from people who follow this blog telling me to get to work and post some pictures of Chloe, for heaven's sake! I'm going to do that, but let me explain myself first! We've been having a wonderful summer, and taking lots of pictures, but our computer is having some issues and does not recognize our SD drive, so it's a major ordeal (well, not a MAJOR ordeal, but a slightly annoying task) to borrow another computer to transfer the photos to a disk drive and get them to our computer. I know, I know.... not that big of a deal, but when there's so much else to do, it really does seem like a big deal.

Okay, so here ya go - some pictures I downloaded from my camera. Not the greatest quality, but beggars can't be choosers! ;o)

Chloe is all about the nose-pickin' good times lately. Cracks me up! Here she is when she just woke up in the morning, just pickin' away! lol

Mirror Lake by the cabin with my parents:

Oby is coaching football at West High this year, just helping with stats and plays on Friday nights. His brother does it too, they get free football gear and then they "have" to go to the games every week, so it's a pretty good gig for them! Plus, there's good father-son bonding as well:

One day there were circumstances that meant Chloe had to come spend a couple hours with me at work. It was NOT a problem at all, she was a hard worker! Speaking of work, I'm starting NEW (and better) job next week. I'm so excited to be moving on to greener pastures!

I've been hanging out a lot with my concert-going soul sistah, Melissa. We are bordering on inseparable. We went to Adele last week. Next week we've got Willie Nelson on the docket -- cannot wait! Here we are on her birthday. I really do have a nose, people, but my phone camera somehow didn't pick it up! haha

Last - and least favorite - I was rear-ended this week. Not too big of a deal, no one was injured and the other driver has insurance. He really did slam me pretty hard, though, and don't lose respect for me, but I think I have whiplash! I never have back/neck pain and seldom get headaches, but all are stopping by a lot this week. I've got an appointment with a physiatrist next week, but I hope everything just resolves before then.

Pool Pals

I recently started working four 10-hour days, so we use my Friday off to go swimming! Chloe just LOVES it -- and so do we!

Not only is it fun, but it's great exercise for Chloe too. Check out her head control!!!

Guess what else I've been loving lately -- my new camera bag from Cheeky Lime!!!!! SO cute, eh?!

My New Everyday

Today was the first official day working at my new job. For a few months, I've been working part-time at a party store, Zurchers. It was a lot of fun and I met some AMAZING people working there. But now that Chloe is in school, I'm able to work a more routine day job so I can have evenings with my family! Now I'm doing something that relates more to my education in Health Administration, and I think I'm going to love it! A company that manages different medical clinics all over the Salt Lake valley is switching from paper files to a paperless system, and I'll be doing some training and data entry of medical records. That might sound insanely boring to most people, but it's kinda my thing! So far my co-workers and the staff I'll initially be working with have been above and beyond nice and fun, so I'm really excited for this new stage in my life!
