Chloe met a milestone yesterday... she plays with her toes! This may not seem like a big deal, but in our little world, this is a very big deal! She had an evaluation recently in which the nurse went through a checklsit of baby milestones. "Does she....?" I answered "No" a lot more than I would have liked. She is 15 months old and I was told she was like a 5-month-old in gross motor skills; a 7-month-old in fine motor skills; a 9-month-old in cognitive development; a 9-month-old in language skills, a 9-month-old in self-help skills; and a 9-month old in social/emotional development. This was a bitter pill for me to swallow. I'm a 'meets or exceeds' kind of gal, I don't like to be behind, and I don't like to be told my daughter is falling behind. But I know she's doing her best, and I'm doing my best to help her. And she is definitely progressing, because just last week when we did the evaluation, I had to answer "no" to the question, "Does she play with her toes?" Well, now you can see why I want to tell the world, "She's playing with her toes! She's playing with her toes!" Let's just say I know the pride Michael Phelps' mom must feel.
