Balancing Act & "I Had a Pony"

Chloe and Oby tried out a new trick tonight. I could have watched them do this forever....

Chloe sat on her daddy's hand and did a balancing act.

Did you catch the two key words??? SAT. BALANCED.

Chloe was happy. Her daddy was happy. I was happy. Her physical therapist will be happy.
I've been trying to get her to balance on a ball, oh, about three times a day for about three months. Then Daddy comes along with his big old hand and achieves expectations.
Yay for Daddy!!!

This is totally changing the subject, but I had to share this as well. Chloe got a set of 'My Little Ponies' from Santa. She loves hair. She rides horses. Santa was so smart to realize that she would love these ponies.

Every time I hand her a pony I say, "I had a pony." People usually look at me like I very well may be insane when they hear me say that.

Tonight as Chloe was playing with her pony and doing her music therapy before bed, I did my quote again, and giggled to myself (I totally crack myself up all the time). To all my friends and family, and random strangers who may see me saying, "I had a pony," in a deep Polish accent, don't worry. I'm not insane. I'm quoting a Seinfeld episode....

My husband used to do that with our kids too when they were babies. I called it baby balancing. I think it is fantastic that you found something to help chloe with her balancing!!!

Hooray for Chloe!! That's awesome! I have pictures of my dad holding his hand out with me like that.

And, by the way, as soon as you mentioned Seinfeld I knew exactly which episode you meant. You crack me up too.

That is amazing. I can't believe she can balance like that.

I was a big pretty pony girl growing up. They were my favorite (way better than Barbie).

The pictures are so funny and cute. Great balancing on Daddy's hand, so much better than a balance ball. Way to go Chloe and I love Little Ponies too.

Tara-

Don't know if you remember me or not from Bear Lake...I know the Oby will. I have been checking on your blog since I got connected through Nana's. I have to tell you, that I wanted to cry of happiness for you, Oby, and Chloe. That is so great! The things that daddy's can do for their little girls...amazing!

All right! Now Dad can just take over the balancing exercises from now on right?! Dennis did this same thing with Allen and bike riding. I had worked and worked with him for weeks, and we were getting no where... along comes Dad, and he could ride 15 min later! Dads are just amazing!

Chloe is so stinkin' cute. I love that smile. Aren't daddies awesome?

I think that's the only episode of Seinfeld I hadn't seen. It's really funny that you do that. Half of all the verbal exchanges in this house are clips from movies. We especially like, "I'll be your huckleberry." People think we're weird, too, but we don't care.

Yay! Her PT is gonna be so excited for ya'll! Look at her sitting! First in daddy's hands, next the balance ball!!! I know daddy's hands are a lot easier to do than a balance ball, but she'll get there!
My daughter loves My Little Ponies, too!!! We sing the My Little Pony theme when she's walking around with hers. :) Aren't those the best toys???

Ok, Tara, now you've got the whole "I hawad a poNEY" stuck in MY head. I've walked by like 10 my little ponies last night and today and each time I do "I hawad a poNEY" goes through my head. But it does bring a giggle ;)

I can't express the excitment I felt when I saw those pictures!! I knew those big old hands would be good for something some day. Now if we can find a use for his feet.

You are such a goof ball. "I had a Pony." I am going to teach Henry to say that.

Very cool step in the right direction...leave it to the dad to come up with the right thing! I love how happy she looks.

Wow, that is amazing! She is really balancing-- I don't think I could do that! Santa was very smart to figure out she would love the ponies. As far as you cracking yourself up-- I do that too. Good to know I'm not alone:)
