Extreme Makeover: Monkey Edition

You've all met Chloe's monkey....

Isn't he cute? Yes HE is cute. That's the problem and my bloggy pal Amanda came up with a solution. She sent me an email suggesting I add some bling to Chloe's monkey and turn HIM into a fab HER. So I took Amanda's idea, and played around a little today. I rummaged through my scrapbook embellishments and this is what I came up with....

Suddenly the monkey is looking a little more Chloe-esque, don't you think? But there's two sides to the monkey, so here's the other side....

A necklace, a bracelet, a flower on the tail, an earring, and a little sunhat. Cute!

I felt so proud of the monkey makeover and went about my day. I set out for a PT appointment, a trip to the grocery store, etc. I put on coats, scarves, boots, hats. That's when I realized I had it wrong. I had Miss Monkey dazzled up really cute, but she wasn't dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.

So when I got home, we re-worked Miss Monkey's look yet again....
That's better! Side A is so posh and ready for the cold!

Here's side B. Isn't she a cutie!

Then I added some final touches to the tray....

I threw some egg noodles in for Chloe's tactual pleasure and sensory integration needs. Then I remembered Nana gave these letters to Chloe for her birthday last year, and I realized they were the perfect last touch! They bring all the colors together and give it that final flare it needed to make it Chloe's stander!

Which outfit is your favorite?

And more importantly,
what do you think we should name her????

p.s. Thanks for the ideas, Amanda. I can't imagine Chloe's stander any other way!

I like the side with the blue scarf. What a great idea. How about Merry Monkey?

I love the makeover. All girls have to have girlie accessories. My girls always insisted on eyelashes for their girl things. I love the side with the scarf and such. Could Chloe's monkey be named Zoe?

I like the purple hat and red scarf...soo cute!!

So as far as names go, I like the name Cheeky, just because I always associate monkey's with monkey bums. I dunno why, I am crazy though. This I know. :)

But my first thought before I read the comments was Chiquita, except spelling it Chickquita. Cuz, you know, she *IS* a chick.

My husband says spanky, but I had to remind him that this is a childs monkey, not some sick man's. ;)

So cute, perfect for the COLD weather! My kids think Georgie for the name, but I think that's because they like curious George!:)

Chloe's monkey is so beautiful. She is stylish and will only compliment Chloe and any attire she may have on. I think you should name her Maybel the Monkey. It is a great name for someone/thing who is going to give Chloe so much love, attention, and extra assistance.

Bertha. And I have no idea why, expect it just came to me.

I'm no good with names. Obviously, as my dog is named George.

I think monkey needs some lipstick! It's the ultimate girl accessory.

SUPER CUTE, Tara, I love it!! I love that you had the letters so you could spell her name, but shouldn't they be facing Chloe? She can have an outfit for all seasons and you could even change her every so often just to mix it up a bit!

I think you should name her Hope, or Faith maybe Grace. I think she should have an inspiring name to fit what she is!

Love it! She looks like an Esmerelda to me!

Those letters are awesome!

This post is a great example of why I love your blog so much, Tara. Our brains work in very similar ways!

Might I suggest "Mona" as the name for the beloved monkey? Mona the Monkey...it has potential, yes?

The lettering on the tray is really perfect.

I am not sure that I am seeing quite the "right" outfit, though. Perhaps Mona is instead a child of the 80's. I am thinking rubber band bracelets, fishnet gloves with the fingers cut out, and a couple pairs of socks.

I personally like the flower and the purple hat w/ scarf. Mari's suggestion for a Monkey name is princess. After all one princess deserves another!!!!

You definitely made the monkey feel welcome with all that love.

I love the bling.

Yes. Chloe's monkey would HAVE to be dolled up. I like the purple snow hat side. I have no idea what to name the monkey, but I think it is a good idea to name her.

too cute~ I love the purple hat and scarf! I love the tray- you did a fab job on making that look awesome. How does Chloe do in it? I have been thinking about you all lately- I know we keep saying we'll plan to hang out and nothing happens but I really hope we can get together soon- Ryan ran into Dallas and Tatum the other day and I think he got a little friend sick. Stuck at home with a cranky prego lady all the time is not his idea of fun :) If your all not busy this week/end would you like to come over for dinner?

I love the Monkey Makeover!
SHE is so cute now.
Now she fits in with your ever so stylish & beautiful Chloe!
I'm not one to ask for a creative name for her though as we have a hamster named James!

I'm totally digging the make over. My fave is the purple hat and burgundy scarf. Monkey looks ready to with stand the cold. Very adorable! And you're right, Chloe's name was the perfect touch! I just love it.

Monkey names... How about M-Crizzle to the C-Rizzle? Uh, okay then, Adisa. Better?

You did it!! It loods adorable and soo girly!! I love the makeover all the outfits are cute but I must say my fav is the pruple hat! I do like the bling though! I love that you added her name it is perfect now! Someone suggested putting her name so she could read it and I would agree with that, she will see it all the time you want her to be able to remember it correctly! :) Great job!! As for the name I love names with meaning so I would call her Able because Chloe is able to do anything she wants! If meaning doesn't matter I would go with Ella, or Lucy. Good luck and can't wait to hear what you call her!!
