Special Friends

Today was a blessed day! I can't really put into words how much today meant to me. But let me try.

Awhile back I came across a blog that seemed to reach out and grab me. It was a blog about a very special boy named Caleb. He along with his mom April and their amazing perspective and attitude touch me more than I can properly express! I was glad to take our friendship up a notch today and meet them for lunch.... along with Hunter, Hunter's mom Emily, and of course Becky! This was our first time meeting Hunter and Emily, but we are excited to get to know them better! :)

Can anyone tell who Chloe has a crush on....

That's right, Caleb's *wink* has had her smitten since the very first time she gazed upon it on his blog. I'm smitten too!....

Caleb's mommy April is pretty smitten with Chloe as well....

Another highlight of the day was meeting Ben's mom Becky. Sadly, Ben is at home in New Hampshire, but we were so glad to be with Becky! Ben is another one of Chloe's little blog crushes. I have a little crush on Becky's beautiful writing. Her words touch my soul almost as much as Ben does. Chloe thought she was pretty great too, and especially liked playing with her hair....

After an absolutely delightful lunch and fun time visiting, I headed to meet another new friend. Again, I met her through blogging, and it was such a treat to get to visit! This is Chrystal with her special son Hunter and daughter Caitlin....

It was so nice to sit and chat with Chrystal. She has taught me a lot and it has been great to meet another amazing person that I otherwise wouldn't have met if I didn't have the great privilege of being Chloe's mom. It was also wonderful and filled me with hope to watch Hunter "perform" his many milestones that he has been able to accomplish only recently.... sitting, walking with assistance, pulling himself up.... He was so proud of himself, I could tell! It touched my heart to know how hard he and his mom and their therapists have worked, and then to see the big pay off was just incredible!

Chloe and Caitlin were instant friends. They played together so well. Caitlin has a sympathetic way about her because of being Hunter's sister. She was so sweet with Chloe, and I could tell that she knew Chloe was "special." It was sweet to watch her play with Chloe in such a tender way....

I'm so glad I ever came to know these special children and their amazing moms thanks to the blogging world. It is my distinct privilege to call these wonderful women my friends. I honestly am in awe at the way Heavenly Father leads and guides his children in unique ways to find one another, to help one another, to bless one another. I believe friendship is a tender mercy that helps us along through this life, and I am grateful beyond measure for the friendships I enhanced today.

It's so nice you were able to actually meet so many of the families from the blog! I haven't had the chance to meet anyone in person yet, but I know that eventually I will.
