Blast From the Past

OK. Be prepared. This is a long post. It is also completely un-relatable to most people. But I found this story written by a previous roommate yesterday when I was searching for something else in our storage. I have been giggling to myself ever since and decided I HAD to share it with the rest of you. It is just too good to keep all to myself!

I have to preface the story by telling a few facts. Shelly is the author of this story. Shelly and I were roommates at USU our freshman year. We had gone to junior high and high school together, but weren't particularly close friends. I mean, we got along fine, but we didn't choose to be roommates.... the school just magically paired us together. I was just glad to be with someone I knew! Little did I know what a treat I was in for. Shelly ended up being one of my most cherished friends, and making life at college a constant Broadway comedy. I am not kidding. She was a theatre major, and that was a perfect fit - she is a drama queen. Don't worry, she won't take offense to that - in fact, to her, it is a compliment indeed! Well, back in high school we both had huge crushes on these boys who we were very close friends with, but problem - they both had girlfriends. That's the preface.... here's Shelly's story to tell the rest, with inside jokes galore as well as references to the movies My Best Friend's Wedding and Multiplicity. ENJOY!

Oh my gosh, I can't even breathe. You almost sent me into labor! What a find in the attic. Man, we had some fun, didn't we? Holy cow, that was fun to reread. I love you, Tara! Let's turn in early, shall we?

I think I just peed my pants. Excuse me for a minute. Thanks so much for sharing that. I'm glad I got up this morning to read your blog.
Tara, Some day I'm going to break out my yearbook and post about your closing comments to me and why I love you. It has to do with this post and everything else about you.
Thanks. You're a super star.
