I can hardly believe it, but today we celebrated Isabella's 2nd birthday. Isabella is Chloe's cousin, just four months older than Chloe (or Chlo-Chlo as Izzy calls her).
This means Chloe will be 2 in four months. I cannot believe it! She's still my baby, how could it be that two years have passed!?!?

Look how much smaller the girls were just last year at Izzy's 1st Birthday party! Oh they are so cute and so little!
Two. That was our deadline. I've been told by several doctors that typically if children aren't sitting up by the age of two, it is highly unlikely they will ever walk. Chloe is nowhere near sitting up.
Because of the many people I've met through the kidz blog, I've found that children often exceed the two-year-old rule. Several people have told me their child didn't sit until 4, and now they walk. One person even shared a story that a member in her family didn't walk until he was 9. I'm so grateful they have shared their stories with me! Before I heard these stories, I felt like Chloe turning 2 was a deadline of sorts. But because of others' openness, I know that whether or not Chloe meets the milestone of sitting up by the age of 2, her possibilities, physical and otherwise, are endless!
Here's to amazing moments and amazing possibilities!

Its amazing how much they grow and how fast!!
I would imagine it would be hard to give anyone deadlines...everyone is so different...every baby develops at their own pace...She will get there one day, I have faith in Chloe :) and I will always pray for that beautiful angel
Chloe is full of amazing moments! She will be forever.
Miracles happen every day! Chloe can achieve anything she puts her mind to, especially with you by her side!! I love all of your quotes that you find, they make me want to do better! Thanks.:)
I'm so glad you've decided not to let two be a deadline for Chloe. It's so good to hear of others who have overcome the "norms" and knowing Chloe's milestones are not set in stone.
If her birthday is in four months, does that mean her birthday is around yours? ;o)
My little guy will be two in April so I think both our babies are about the same age.
I hope your daughter sits someday soon, but I think it's important not to put too much importance on timelines. The world is full of people who do things on their own schedule (and not according to the doctors).
They grow up fast. Mine left for dorm life this weekend. Blink of an eye. Chloe will make each of her "milestones" in her own way. You know that with all the excitement inside her it will happen. You are raising a beautiful happy child!
You know, milestones are of man's design, not God's. We will believe that Chloe will exceed all expectations. Your beautiful little girl has a very bright future.
I firmly believe that while the Dr.s will give time lines and statistics, Heavenly Father will give blessings in the form of what some will call miracles. Chloe will do all that she ever wants to with you there giving her so much love and support!
Great pictures, what beautiful little girls!
Tara, I have literally countless experiences with my pediatric patients who don't meet these artificial deadlines and go on to exceed everyone's expectations. I appreciate how hard Chloe, you, her family, and clinicians are working, so the sky's the limit w/Chlo-Chlo. God Bless.
I hope that Chloe beats the odds! I'm sure that she will be blessed with everything that Heavenly Father intends for her to have. She already has a fantastic family!
Time really does fly, Emi just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago and Annie turned 2 in Sept. Chloe will do things in her own time. In the mean time keep taking pictures cause before you know it she'll be starting school, gasp!!! That's what I keep telling myself, at least.
Wow, time does fly! I'm sure Chloe will continue to amaze you!
How nice they are the same age. Don't ever believe in deadlines! I myself am a medical miracle. I was born with a completely twisted leg and they said I'd never walk. I walked when they took my cast off! You would never know I had any trouble with that leg or foot. I had a heart attack at 21, they said I would not ever be able to function normally. I totally recovered! I can go on and on. I have always proved them wrong!
He is def. all about the moments. Life is different for everyone and thats why there is no how to or guide book. This little girl will be her own story- prob. the most amazing one ever! I just had to tell you that your baby sure is beautiful!
oh love...don't do that to yourself. don't take the words as a deadline. God is the one that can make it happen if it supposed to happen. keep your faith and never give up...the girls are beautiful! have a great day!
It's funny how fast our kids grow and change. Hang in there! If it's one thing I've learned, doctors and "specialists" are fallable. There's no such thing as a "deadline" in life. You've got all the time in the world!
Those girls are so adorable. I want a grandbaby so bad. Seeing them makes me want one even more. Don't listen to those doctors and so-called experts when they try to predict the future. Chloe will do exactly what God has planned for her. With great parents like hers, she will surpass their predictions.
aw, she looks so excited to have that cake in front of her!
don't ever listen to the deadlines...they are just guesses...
every child is unique and the more faith have and the more you believe, the more likely it is that things will happen. but, the most important thing to remember is that God has a plan, and one day it will all make sense.
All things are possible with God!
Thinking of Chloe.
Jen
They look so grown up! Believe in hope, not deadlines.
Great reminder-'life isn't a matter of milestones but of moments'.
Your niece is a doll! Happy Bday!
Definitly never give up!!!
I'm so glad you've met people who've had similar experiences and who know what you are going through. Chloe seems like a very determined gal. Hope to meet her someday!
