"I Wanna Do It!"

Here are a couple pictures of Chloe sitting in her Special Tomato while we were out to dinner. We love this thing! I didn't realize how enjoyable it could be to sit around a table with my family until we got this chair. It makes all the difference in the world for us! Chloe loves it too! She loves being a big girl, people-watching, and getting into a little bit of mischief (we didn't give her this straw, she picked it up herself - so cute!)....

The other day Chloe got to hang out at Nana and Papa's house while Oby and I went out to a movie. She had so much fun playing in her space blanket that came. (and please note how cute her PJ's are -- they say 'her royal cuteness!')....

After the space blanket lost its appeal, Izzy and Chloe started playing with a pink-haired troll. It was so cute watching them play with this troll! Chloe is starting to show a lot of age-appropriate behavior, including playing make-believe with dolls, stuffed animals, etc. She was just chatting away with this little troll and giving it kisses. It was so cute!....

Then Izzy was playing with some other toys. She was being really cute with Chloe, like she always is, showing her what she was doing. Chloe said something that sounded a lot like, 'I wanna do it!' Uncle Jamie said, "Chloe, did you just say, "I wanna do it"? And Chloe repeated it, this time as clear as day, "I wanna do it!" she said. Not in a demanding voice, just in a sweet voice that sounded a little bit like heaven to me!....

I often wonder what Chloe would tell me if she could speak. Every once in awhile I get little glimpses of what's going on in her mind. I've been told by speech therapists that this is how Apraxia acts... The words and information are in Chloe's mind, she just has a hard time (almost impossible time) getting them from her mind to her mouth. Every once in awhile, though, like the other night, she'll speak. It is such a joy to me when she does! Her voice is truly one of the sweetest things I've ever heard. I wish she'd give me a little warning now and then so we could get it on video!

Although she may not speak often, those smiles say so much! :0)

Oh, I can so relate Tara! Elijah hasn't officially been diagnosed with apraxia, but we're pretty sure that he'll get the diagnosis. Sometimes when he's blabbering I know he's trying to talk, but I just can't understand it. And then once in awhile I can understand it (he's said "I love you" a handful of times!)and it's like witnessing a miracle. I always love Chloe's pictures...she is so beautiful!

I love these pictures. Too cute!

I know what you mean about her voice sounding like Heaven. I have heard some words from Gracie, including "I love you" a few times. It is just like Heaven when I hear that!

Oh my gosh - Chloe looks so BIG on the space blanket. Our kids are growing up so fast!

Emma is really into dolls lately, too. We play with her with them since she can't really play them by herself but she kicks her legs and moves her arms really fast when we ask her if she wants to play with the babies.

So glad Chloe let you hear her voice again. I love hearing Emma's voice and I never tire of it (of course, she barely uses it so I'm thrilled when I hear it).

The PJs are cute but the girl in them is what makes the outfit. She's adorable. AND I know that feeling. Hearing those words. Great, isn't it?

Tara how spectacular! I know how exciting it is when they manage to say something, congratulations! It seems the treatment in Montana has helped her so much! You must be so proud. I'll try you tomorrow, would love to chit chat!

That makes me SMILE! Cute girl. She would tell you over and over how much she loves you and what an amazing mother you are - THAT is what she would tell you if she could. ;) xoxo

Beautiful daughter - she looks so happy. My son, Bennett, does not speak either. We always say we wonder what he'd say if he could speak - I have some ideas!
